SUPPORT LOCAL FARMERS MARKETS | SUMMER 2021

Summertime means it is time to enjoy the delicious, fresh produce that we fondly associate with the season. And one of the best places to find it is at your local farmers market! During your next trip to Grantsville, we encourage you to enjoy and support the farmers markets near our area, like the Mountain Fresh Farmers Market and the Springs Farmers Market. 

  • Mountain Fresh Farmers Market: The Mountain Fresh Farmers Market runs from May 29 through October 30, 2021. It takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Mountain Fresh Pavilion in Oakland, Maryland. The Mountain Fresh Farmers Market is a producer-only market, which means their vendors must grow, bake or create their products themselves. Some of the products you can find at this market include fresh produce, herbs, cut flowers, crafts, jewelry, soy candles and much more.   
  • Springs Farmers Market: The Springs Farmers Market runs from May 22 through September 18, 2021. It takes place on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at 1711 Springs Road in Springs, Pennsylvania. The Springs Farmers Market is the largest in our area. Some of the products you can find at this market include fresh produce, locally raised plants, quilts, antiques, leather goods and much more. 

GO ON A WILDLIFE ADVENTURE | JUNE 20, JULY 18 AND AUGUST 15, 2021

If you want to spend time in nature while visiting Grantsville, why not go on a wildlife adventure with All Earth Eco Tours? This summer, snake and reptile expert and guest instructor, Mark Pankowski (The Feral Nut), will guide families on nature walks, where they can learn about and look for reptiles and amphibians on Maryland's only Wild and Scenic River Trail in Friendsville. The event dates are set for June 20, July 18 and August 15, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. CHECK OUT GRANTSVILLE DAYS | JUNE 25 - 27, 2021

A community favorite, Grantsville Days, is taking place this year from June 25 through June 27, 2021! Check out some of the exciting activities and events taking place throughout the weekend below:

  • Friday, June 25: The weekend kicks off with the annual Fireman’s Parade on Main Street at 6:45 pm. The parade will be followed by Rock n’ Roll Racing and fireworks later at 9:30 pm. 
  • Saturday, June 26: You will not want to miss the pickleball tournament at 9:00 am, BBQ and kettle corn from the Grantsville Lions Club, food and craft booths, free kids activities throughout the day and special music performances from The Cramer Brothers at noon and The Clarks at 7:00 pm. Former Steelers linebacker, Arthur Moats, will also be in attendance, and pictures and autographs will be available! 
  • Sunday, June 27: There will be a non-denominational church service at 11:00 am, followed by BBQ and kettle corn from the Grantsville Lions Club and food and craft booths. The weekend wraps up with a car show at noon and a special music performance from The Fabulous Hubcaps at 2:00 pm.  

ATTEND A BIKE RODEO | JUNE 26, 2021

Bring your family (and do not forget those bicycles and helmets) to a Bike Rodeo on June 26, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Deep Creek Lake Lions Club Park in Accident, Maryland. This free event, sponsored by the Deep Creek Lake Lions Club, seeks to raise funds, support and awareness for a pump track (a circuit of rollers and banked turns for bicycle riders). It will feature biking activities (like obstacle courses for children to compete and win prizes), a scavenger hunt and live music. The Garrett County Coyotes Mountain Bike Team will also be in attendance.


COME TO THE BOAT PARADE | JULY 3, 2021

Come to picturesque Deep Creek Lake and check out the Boat Parade (or participate with a boat of your own!) on July 3, 2021. The parade lasts from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and begins at McHenry Cove. As lighted boats proceed in single file along the route, spectators at judging stations can vote with cash or online for their favorite one. The funds raised from this event support the Deep Creek Lions Club's Blind Skier and Camper Programs.


WATCH THE FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN FIREWORKS DISPLAY | JULY 4, 2021

If you visit Grantsville on the Fourth of July, you should check out the annual Fire on the Mountain Fireworks Display at Deep Creek Lake. Observers can watch the spectacular display from the scenic overlook on Route 219 at McHenry Cove on Deep Creek Lake and businesses in McHenry, Maryland. 


VISIT THE GARRETT COUNTY AGRICULTURAL FAIR | JULY 31 - AUGUST 7, 2021

The 64th Annual Garrett County Agricultural Fair is a fun, multi-day event that the entire family can enjoy. The fair runs from July 31 through August 7, 2021, at 270 Mosser Road in McHenry, Maryland. This fair offers more than just a carnival and entertainment; it is an exhibition of the local agricultural community. The Garrett County Agricultural Fair proudly showcases local makers, gardeners, photographers and various other craftspeople of differing skills and talents.
